Special Interest Group werkt nationaal samen aan management en toegang
onderzoeksdata

SIG Research Data deelt kennis en ervaringen online



16 augustus 2012 - Sinds deze week maakt de Special Interest Group (SIG)
Research Data actief gebruik van het online platform SURFspace
<http://www.surfspace.nl/researchdata> . Deze SIG, die deze zomer is
opgericht, deelt kennis en ervaringen op het gebied van onderzoeksdata
in Nederland. Specialisten en belangstellenden van
hogeronderwijsinstellingen kunnen op SURFspace.nl/researchdata
aansluiten bij de SIG en desgewenst bijdragen met eigen inzichten,
kennis en ervaringen. De SIG organiseert jaarlijks een aantal
thema-bijeenkomsten die worden aangekondigd via SURFspace.



Samenhang initiatieven

De SIG Research Data richt zich op het bevorderen van de samenhang in de
initiatieven op het gebied van beheer, management en de toegankelijkheid
van o nderzoeksdata in Nederland. Naast het bundelen van kennis,
verenigt deze SIG Nederlandse experts op het gebied van datamanagement
en verbeterde toegang van onderzoeksdata.



De SIG Research Data wil gezamenlijk kennis en ervaring met de
juridische en infrastructurele aspecten van onderzoeksdata ontwikkelen.
Dit geldt ook voor de ondersteuning aan onderzoekers door
dataprofessionals. Het samenwerkingsverband ontwikkelt niet alleen een
nationale visie en strategie op beheer en toegang. Ook identificeert,
initieert en participeert de SIG in gemeenschappelijke (Europese)
projecten.



Kerngroep met belangrijke stakeholders

Belangrijke spelers op het gebied van onderzoeksdata in Nederland zijn
vertegenwoordigd in de kerngroep van de SIG Research Data: NWO
<http://www.nwo.nl> , DANS <http://www.dans.knaw.nl/> , universiteiten,
RIVM <http://www.rivm.nl/> , Nationale Coalitie Digitale Duurzaamheid
<http://www.ncdd.nl> (NCDD), Netherlands eScience Center
<http://www.esciencecenter.com/> en SURF <http://www.surf.nl> . Deze
kerngroep komt jaarlijks zes keer bijeen.
