International UDC Seminar 2017 marks the anniversaries of two conferences devoted to faceted classification research: sixty years
since the First International Study Conference on Classification Research (Dorking, 1957) and twenty years since the the Sixth
International Study Conference (London, 1997).
The objective of the conference is to revisit faceted analytical theory as a method for (re)constructing modern classifications and indexing
languages and the role analytico-synthetic classifications have had in resource discovery and retrieval, from their introduction at the
beginning of the 20th century to date. The conference will examine the challenges analytico-synthetic classifications represent for data
modelling and interface design in the Web environment. Most importantly, it will explore potential fields of application for faceted
classifications in information organization, visualization and presentation of large datasets, social networks and in the open linked
data environment.
 High quality and innovative contributions are invited for the following
topics:
- The impact of faceted analytical theory and research on modern
classification and indexing languages;
- Data modelling, data management and data sharing of faceted and
analytico-synthetic classifications;
- Vocabulary mapping, semantic linking and natural language interfacing
of analytico-synthetic systems;
- Applications of faceted analytical theory on (re)constructing
knowledge classifications and indexing languages;
- End user interface design and user-friendly knowledge presentation for
faceted systems;
- Novel applications of faceted systems outside the bibliographic
domain.

CONTRIBUTIONS:

Two kinds of contributions are invited: conference papers and posters. Authors should submit a paper proposal in the form of an extended
abstract (1000-1200 words, including references, for papers; and 500-600 words for posters). The submission form is provided on the conference website.

Proposals will be reviewed by the Programme Committee consisting of an international panel of experts. Each submission will undergo a blind
review by at least three reviewers.

The Conference proceedings will be published by Ergon Verlag and will be distributed at the conference. Best papers will be proposed for publishing in the Knowledge Organization journal

Beste allemaal,

Ik ben op zoek naar dit artikel: "Hoogbergen, W.S.M. & Schellekens, H. (2001). 'Twee sodomieprocessen in Suriname, 1731-1733'. Oso, Tijdschrift voor Surinaamse Taalkunde, Letterkunde, Cultuur en Geschiedenis., 20(2), pp. 254-263"

Volgens Picarta zou dat ook in de OBA (in Amsterdam) aanwezig moeten zijn, helaas zijn al die jaargangen van dit tijdschrift verwijderd. Bij de KB is alleen deze jaargang "uit roulatie". Het artikel is wel aanwezig bij Universiteitsbibliotheken, maar dan heb ik weer een studentnummer nodig. Degene die me een kopie van dit artikel zou kunnen doen toekomen, zal me een gelukkige mens maken.

[NEDBIB-L] Nog vijf dagen vroege-vogel-voordeel voor voginip

Beste informatieprofessional,

Nog uiterlijk tot en met dinsdag 31 januari kun je profiteren van het voordelige vroege-vogel tarief voor deelname aan de vijfde VOGIN-IP-lezing. Daarna moet je onherroepelijk de volle poet betalen.

Maar er is ook een minder prozaische reden om niet te wachten met inschrijven. Sommige workshops - met name die van Henk van Ess - zijn zo populair dat ze al bijna volgeboekt zijn. Anderzijds zijn de gewone lezingen zeker niet minder interessant. En daar is vrijwel onbeperkt plaats.

Vakreferent / Subject Librarian voor de domeinen Engels, International Studies en voor het Leiden University College(LUC) (0.8 fte)

De werkzaamheden

• Treedt op als partner voor onderzoekers en docenten en vormt de liaison tussen de faculteit Geesteswetenschappen, het LUC en de UBL;
• Werkt vanuit een innovatieve instelling nauw samen met collega vakreferenten en met specialisten op het gebied van bijvoorbeeld datamanagement, data- en textmining, Open Access en auteursrechten;
• Ondersteunt het onderwijs- en onderzoeksproces actief, werkt aan het opbouwen en onderhouden van een breed netwerk binnen het LUC en Geesteswetenschappen;
• Initieert nieuwe diensten en werkt mee aan de ontwikkeling daarvan;
• Verzorgt instructies en cursussen op het gebied van informatievaardigheid;
• Stemt de collectie voor de toegekende vakgebieden af op de informatiebehoefte bij onderwijs en onderzoek en bouwt deze uit.

Uw profiel

• Doctoraal of MA Engelse taal en cultuur met bij voorkeur een Bibliotheek-/media-/informatieopleiding op tenminste HBO-niveau;
• Bij voorkeur werkervaring in de bibliotheek- en informatiesector;
• Bekendheid met het onderwijs- en onderzoeksproces binnen Geesteswetenschappen en/of het LUC;
• Een bewezen brede en internationale interesse;
• Een innovatieve instelling met aantoonbare kennis van en ervaring met digitale toepassingen in de wetenschappelijke informatievoorziening en met relevante ICT-toepassingen in onderwijs en onderzoek;
• Analytisch vermogen;
• Communicatief, adviesvaardig en met aantoonbare didactische kwaliteiten;
• Uitstekende beheersing van het Nederlands, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk.

Wij bieden

Aanstelling vindt plaats conform de cao Nederlandse Universiteiten, in eerste instantie voor de duur van een jaar, met bij goed functioneren mogelijk uitzicht op een vast dienstverband. Het salaris bedraagt, afhankelijk van opleiding en werkervaring, minimaal € 2.532,- en maximaal € 3.997,- bruto per maand bij een fulltime aanstelling (schaal 10).

Een mooie, handzame en betaalbare full color id- of visitekaartjes printer!

Printer is in 2014 aangeschaft om bibliotheekpassen te maken. Aangezien we dit tegenwoordig niet meer doen, is de goedwerkende printer nu te koop.

Om enkelzijdig full colour of zwart-wit prints te maken op pasjes en kaartjes voor lidmaatschappen, bezoekerspassen, klantenkaarten etc.

·         Drukt tot 500 monochrome kaarten of 120 full-color kaarten per uur, 12 dots/mm (300 dpi)

·         Via usb aan te sluiten op computer. De usb-kabel zit erbij.
Met een ethernet-poort (elders aan te schaffen) kan printer worden omgezet tot netwerkprinter.

·         Nieuwprijs vanaf 700 euro. Vraagprijs: 500 euro

·         Er zit een zwart/wit printlint in, en we hebben er nog 1 op voorraad: Zebra ribbon zwart monochroom (1000 afdrukken), nieuwprijs: 21 euro

TIB is the German National Library of Science and Technology, as well as architecture, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. In its specialist fields it provides national and international researchers and industry practitioners and – as a University Library – students, researchers and teaching staff from all faculties of Leibniz University Hannover as well as interested local citizens with literature and information in both printed and electronic form. The library has outstanding collections of fundamental and highly specialised literature on science and technology. Its remit is to preserve the knowledge recorded and to provide the latest information for research and industry, both now and in the future, irrespective of the time and the place. The aim of TIB is to provide its customers with innovative, efficient and smooth access to data, information and knowledge, and to make large information spaces available to them in a structured, suitable manner. One of its specialist areas is grey literature from its subject areas, which is difficult to procure and cannot be obtained commercially. With its portal www.tib.eu, TIB offers a search and order portal for specialist and research information with a focus on science and technology. Knowledge objects such as audiovisual media, 3D models and research data are also integrated in the portal. More than 170 million data set are currently available. TIB conducts applied research and development to optimise the services it offers. In cooperation with research facilities, emphasis is placed on the topics of visual search, the visualisation of data, future internet and semantic web. International UDC Seminar 2017 marks the anniversaries of two conferences devoted to faceted classification research: sixty years since the First International Study Conference on Classification Research (Dorking, 1957) and twenty years since the the Sixth International Study Conference (London, 1997).

The objective of the conference is to revisit faceted analytical theory as a method for (re)constructing modern classifications and indexing languages and the role analytico-synthetic classifications have had in resource discovery and retrieval, from their introduction at the beginning of the 20th century to date. The conference will examine the challenges analytico-synthetic classifications represent for data modelling and interface design in the Web environment. Most importantly, it will explore potential fields of application for faceted classifications in information organization, visualization and presentation of large datasets, social networks and in the open linked data environment.

High quality and innovative contributions are invited for the following topics:

- The impact of faceted analytical theory and research on modern classification and indexing languages;

- Data modelling, data management and data sharing of faceted and analytico-synthetic classifications;

- Vocabulary mapping, semantic linking and natural language interfacing of analytico-synthetic systems;

- Applications of faceted analytical theory on (re)constructing knowledge classifications and indexing languages;

- End user interface design and user-friendly knowledge presentation for faceted systems;

- Novel applications of faceted systems outside the bibliographic domain.

CONTRIBUTIONS: 

Two kinds of contributions are invited: conference papers and posters. Authors should submit a paper proposal in the form of an extended abstract (1000-1200 words, including references, for papers; and 500-600 words for posters). The submission form is provided on the conference website. 

Proposals will be reviewed by the Programme Committee consisting of an international panel of experts. Each submission will undergo a blind review by at least three reviewers. 

The Conference proceedings will be published by Ergon Verlag and will be distributed at the conference. Best papers will be proposed for publishing in the Knowledge Organization journal.

organized by the UDC Consortium (UDCC). UDC Seminars are devoted to advances in documentary classification research and their application in a networked environment. UDCC is a not-for-profit organization, based in The Hague, established to maintain and distribute the Universal Decimal Classification and to support its use and development. UDC is one of the most widely used knowledge organization systems in the bibliographic domain.

[NEDBIB-L] VOGIN IP conferentie: workshop 'Internet : Is er nog meer te halen dan alleen WWW?'

Internet : Is er nog meer te halen dan alleen WWW?

Op 9 Maart 2017 is het weer tijd voor de populaire VOGIN-IP Lezingen dag, met bijzondere sprekers, bijzondere onderwerpen en natuurlijk weer een reeks interactieve workshops. 

Ook ik heb weer de eer een workshop te mogen geven. Deze keer met als onderwerp wat er nog meer te halen is van het Internet dan alleen world wide web. Ik heb een spinnenweb gemaakt van - naar mijn mening - alle soorten diensten op het Internet die niet WWW zijn maar wel interessante informatie kunnen bevatten. Hieronder NNTP, IRC, Deep Web etc.

Het idee is om mijn spinnenweb te presenteren, voor elke 'poot' uit te leggen wat die dienst precies inhoud en per dienst een of enkele bronnen en tools te bespreken. 

Een workshop is interactief, ik hoop daarom op actieve deelname. Wellicht kunt u zelf ook nog diensten benoemen waaraan niet is gedacht, of weet u handige tools die beslist de moeite waard zijn om te delen met uw collega's. Discussie hoort er natuurlijk ook bij, en veel vragen en (hopelijk) antwoorden.

We hebben twee volle uren voor de workshop. Ik denk aan 1 uur presentatie van het spinnenweb en 1 uur ronde tafel gesprek, discussie, tips, vragen, antwoorden. Of zo.
