Making research reports available for policy and society



Non-peer reviewed literature (grey literature) e.g. research reports, can be of great interest to policy makers and society. In this seminar participants will discuss the value of this material and how this can be made more accessible.

Introduction

Amanda Lawrence is working the Grey Literature Strategies project which aims to provide best practice guidelines for producing and managing grey literature - reports and documents produced outside commercial publishing channels and of particular importance in the area of public policy. In the Netherlands a large number of reports are produced by researchers, yet only some of these are made available through repositories and presented on a national scale through NARCIS and the HBO Kennisbank. Aim of this afternoon seminar is to exchange experiences and discuss whether steps need to be taken in the Netherlands to improve the accessibility of such grey literature.
