Discovery Service Engineer (Sales Engineer) (m/f)
- Northern Europe -
The Discovery Service Engineer (DSE) is the primary technical resource for
the field sales force. The DSE is responsible for actively driving and
managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in
conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product
advocate.
Essential functions include:
* Regional authoritative expert on technology aspects of platform
functionality, markets, trends
* Pre-sales customer presentations and field events such as conferences and
focus groups
* Responds to functional and technical elements of Request for Information
and Request for Proposals / Tenders
* Supports the trial process and initial post-sales support
* Establishes strong relationships with regional sales and customer support
teams, as well as existing and prospective customers
* Creates and manages sales support tools
* Authors and assists with documentation to support the regional pre-sales
process
Required Qualifications::
* Several years of proven progressive experience in Consulting, Product
Management, Sales or related field
* Several years of proven experience and excellence in presenting
technology, Internet or software applications
* University degree in computer science, library science, etc. or equivalent
education
* Fluency in written and spoken English and one or several of the following
languages: Danish, Dutch, Finnish, German, Norwegian, Swedish
* Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
* This position will be setup to work from a Home Office. Office space in
one of our regional offices can be provided, if desired
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Integrated Library Systems (ILS), and/or Institutional
Repositories, and/or other closely related web applications and/or library
technology products
* Working knowledge of JavaScript, PHP and/or other web programming
languages
