Japan Science and Technology Agency aims to establish Japan as a nation
built on the creativity of science and technology. JST is a core
organization for implementing Japan's science and technology policy that
renders an infrastructure for the entire process from the creation of
knowledge to the return to the society. As the bases of such a process, JST
also provides scientific and technical information, increases the
understanding of science and technology, and promotes strategic
international activities. The Mission of JST is to promote science and
technology which will create new values and lead to the future, in order to
advance the national welfare and prosperity. The Vision of JST is threefold:
(1.)To help generate innovation based on science and technology, through the
development of networks between academia and industry. (2.)To support
development and activities of personnel who are to advance and deploy
science and technology, while enhancing science communication between the
public and S&T related professionals, and (3.)To advance science and
technology for sustainable development, while playing a role in Japan's
leadership in the S&T field in the face of global society.
