10^th Conference on Grey Literature and Repositories

 

The 10th Conference on Grey Literature and Repositories will take place in the National Library of Technology in Prague (Czech Republic) on 19th October 2017. This year will focus on classic grey literature and its storage, research data and legal issues, while also following up with new information on the Czech Copyright Act. Speakers from Czech Republic, France and Austria will have here their presentations. Simultaneous interpreting from Czech to English and vice versa will be provided. Students can attend for free; for all other attendees, the registration fee is 300 CZK and should be paid in-person at the conference. Register online by October 16.

 

Workshop „Dealing with research data and dissertations„

The workshop „Dealing with research data and dissertations„ will be held in English at NTK on October 18, 2017 from 13:00 to 17:00. Participation is free for all attendees. The workshop capacity is limited to 30 people. Main topics of the workshop will be resource data management (RDM) and experiences with RDM projects of University of Lille, information behaviour and needs of PhD students and goals of academic libraries associated with RDM.

[NEDBIB-L] IFLA ontwikkelt Global Vison samen met jou!

Beste collega,

 

IFLA, de Internationale Federatie voor bibliotheekorganisaties, is december 2016 gestart met een proces waarin zo breed mogelijk input verzameld wordt om te kijken hoe een meer verbonden en samenwerkende bibliotheeksector kan komen tot een nieuwe visie om de uitdagingen die er wereldwijd liggen aan te gaan. (bezig met het ophalen van input voor de formulering van een zgn.'Global Vision', zie https://globalvision.ifla.org).

 

Je kunt tot eind september 2017 zelf je input geven via het online voting systeem op de hierboven genoemde website, maar daarnaast willen we vanuit FOBID (het Nederlandse samenwerkingsverband van KB, UKB, SHB, VOB en KNVI) graag de mogelijkheid bieden iets dieper op de materie in te gaan en een open gesprek te voeren.

 

We organiseren daarom een webinar op donderdagmiddag 21 september van 14:30-16:00 uur.

Vanuit de software is er niet onbeperkt ruimte om deel te nemen aan de webinar dus meld je snel aan en grijp de kans om mee te praten over dit belangrijke initiatief (meld je voor 18 septemberaan bij adeline.vandenberg@kb.nl)

 

Een verslag van deze webinar zal namens FOBID aan IFLA worden aangeboden als Nederlandse input en wordt uiteraard ook op de FOBID-website gepubliceerd.

Binnenkort komt er bij ons museum een verrijdbare stellingkast beschikbaar. Geheel gratis, wel zelf demonteren en afhalen. In verband met een strakke planning: dit dient te gebeuren tussen 18 en 28 september.

Ziet er best redelijk uit. Wordt vervangen door een veel grotere eenheid.

Hij bestaat uit 3 dubbelzijdige verrijdbare rekken. Eén eindrek is gesloten, één eindrek heeft 2 schuifdeuren. Een eenheid bestaat uit 2 kasten van 1 meter breed. Hoogte is ong. 2.20m.

UDC Seminar 2017 revisits faceted analytical theory as one of the most influential methodologies in the development of knowledge organization systems.

We invite information professionals, researchers, lecturers in library and information science and computer science as well as controlled vocabulary developers and designers to join us in discussing important issues related to 'facets' and their application in information organization and discovery.

Various aspects of facet analysis will be discussed by the most eminent authors in the field of knowledge organization and classification: Richard Smiraglia, Vanda Broughton, Birger Hjorland, Claudio Gnoli, Joseph Tennis, Martin Fricke, Dagobert Soergel, Rebecca Green, Rick Szostak, A.R.D. Prasad, et al.
